A most heartfelt and sincere thought

Over the last few years, an awareness wave has swept through the entire tourism world.  Born from the concern for the well-being of people, the global environment and the equitable, considerate practices towards others, this honorable movement has built significant strength over time.  This wave has exposed a true demand and sincere desire by travelers to ensure that hotels, resorts, lodges and travel organizations work closely together with local communities and carry out sustainable tourism practices; where the community, the environment and the indigenous cultures will be safeguarded against external factors that may impede their socio-cultural progress or very existence.

Today, as a result of this awareness, many resorts and organizations are fast developing efforts to try and comply with this new trend.  Furthermore, many are quickly marketing their new developments and last minute efforts which they hope will help their natural surroundings, their people and the world.  We are glad that our industry colleagues have begun these new initiatives which, in the end, will benefit us all.

Yet, at ARASHÁ, we have not reacted to this movement.  In fact, we have not changed at all.  Our behaviors and actions have been the same since our quiet, yet proud opening almost 8 years ago.  Created by an immensely proud Ecuadorian, ran entirely by Ecuadorians and initially supported by Ecuadorian customers, our resort employees and management team have never once thought about engaging in practices that would not be beneficial to the well-being of our own people, our beloved land or our most fragile environment. This is our home, these are our neighbors and all of us at ARASHÁ and “ALL OF ECUADOR™” were puzzled to hear of this “new movement” being positioned as a “recently discovered revelation”

Since “ALL OF ECUADOR™” was born from the minds of the ARASHÁ family, all of our values have been carried into our new service branch.  Practicing decent and sustainable tourism, along with engaging in responsible community actions, has been an integral part of our corporate culture since the beginning.

Efforts that have benefited our natural surroundings and bettered the lives of our people were not done in order to capitalize on their marketability and in turn satisfy a new fad, but rather they have been implemented because of the decency instilled in all of us by our forefathers

As a result, at “ALL OF ECUADOR™”, complying with what we feel is our responsibility to our fellow Ecuadorians, as well as the global good, includes breaking the restrictive “choke hold” pricing structure placed on suppliers, entrepreneurs and honest laborers across this country.  Inconsiderately imposed by large national corporations looking for a quick return on their dollar, these existing pricing structures have discouraged Ecuadorians to invest in their very own country and have made humble, honorable people receive less than the minimum wage required by our friendly government.

Instead, we have welcomed and developed relationships pillared on long- term, mutually beneficial agreements with all Ecuadorians, whether they be proactive investors or providers of fine service.

That is why voluntarily paying guides, hotels and chauffeurs a higher rate than what has been imposed in the past and still being able to give all tour operators a most competitive and favorable rate, gives us great pleasure.  Imagine that, a more favorable rate with a more equitable structure for all, while being surrounded by higher levels of service that thrive only from the willingness of a motivated staff to proudly show their beloved country

By doing what we have been doing for so long, we hope to ensure that a more conscious world exists, especially for the indigenous people of our country with whom one-sided relationships have prevailed for too long.
